SENIOR PICTURE INFORMATION & YEARBOOK (2010) |
The most important item for a senior is the senior photograph. The deadline to submit your senior portrait is OCTOBER 12th! Here are a few important reminders: 1. Please be sure you find out from your studio whether they are sending your picture or if you need to hand it in. 2. If you hand it in, it is your responsibility to get it to the yearbook staff by the above date. 3. We need two wallet size photos with your name on the back of each picture by the above date. Most photographers now submit senior pictures on disk with the correct resolution. If you are submitting your photos on disk the resolution should be a minimum of 300 dpis. The plant will not print photos with a lower resolution. 4. If you want your photographs back, you will need to check with the yearbook staff before or after school before the last day of school. We will have the photos back by then. In the event that the plant has not yet sent them, you can return in the fall and request them from the yearbook adviser. PHOTOGRAPH REQUIREMENTS: Total size of the photo is wallet (about 2&1/2 by 3 inches). Head and shoulders only. Please avoid using back over the shoulder photos, students leaning to the side, or hands in the photographs. In the yearbook, the shoulder/arm or hands become the center of interest rather than the student's face. No soft focus, soft diffusion, or special focus effects; these types of photos do not reproduce well in the yearbook. SENIOR QUOTE: While you are not required to submit a quote for the yearbook, if you would like to submit a quote it will need to be short (one-two lines) and school appropriate. The yearbook staff reserves the right to reject any questionable quotes. Please choose wisely. IMPORTANT DATES: August registration through October 2 - Buy your 2010 Antler for $45; pay an extra $5 for a nameplate. (Other packages available - see order form in registration packet). October 12 - Deadline for senior pictures due to yearbook staff. Deadline for senior quotes also due. February 5 - Deadline for senior ads with money, writing and pictures due to the yearbook staff. June 3 - Tentative date scheduled for yearbook distribution. |

Annual Math Assessment Graduation Requirement Amended |
The state graduation requirement for students to continue to take an annual math assessment while earning two credits of math after 10th grade was eliminated after Gov. Chris Gregoire signed House Bill 1562 into law. The bill is effective immediately and retroactive to the Class of 2008. Now, students in the classes of 2009 through 2012 who do not pass the high school math WASL on their first attempt can meet the math graduation requirement by earning two math credits after 10th grade. Those students are no longer required also to take a math assessment every year (as was required by law prior to March 30th, 2009). This change, however, does not remove the requirement for students to take the math test in their 10th grade year. Beginning with the Class of 2013, all students must pass a State approved math assessment to be eligible to graduate. |
